My name is Rosa, I’m 30 years old and I’ve been weaving bracelets in Producciones Bella Vista. When I was a kid, I used to dream of studying, but I had to leave school in 3rd grade. Because of that, at ten years old I worked as a nanny. Then, when I was twelve I got a job as a cook in restaurants. At an older age, I went to Guatemala City and began working as a housemaid. When I came back to Bella Vista, at 24, I got married. I’m in the weaving group since it began, four years ago.
In the beginning, my husband didn’t like that I worked with Wakami. Finally, he changed and now he even helps me with the production. I’m satisfied weaving with Wakami because I like weaving the bracelets. I’m a mother of two children and I dream, if it’s God’s will, that my children grow up and have respectful careers. Wakami has helped us with a scholarship for my daughter Sheila. I don’t want my children to suffer what I went through. Consequently, I am fighting and I will continue to fight so I can give my kids a better life than the one I had.

Mi nombre es Rosa, tengo 30 años y tejo pulseras para Producciones Bella Vista. Cuando era niña soñaba con estudiar pero salí de la escuela en 3ero primaria. Después de eso, a los 10 años, empecé a trabajar como niñera, a los 12 años comencé a trabajar en restaurantes como cocinera y más grande me fui a la capital a trabajar como empleada doméstica. A los 24 años cuando regresé a Bella Vista me casé. Estoy en el grupo desde que inició hace cuatro años.
Al principio a mi esposo no le gustaba que trabajara con Wakami y por eso me costó bastante. Poco a poco ha ido cambiando y ya no es tan machista. Ahora me apoya e incluso ayuda con la producción. Me siento satisfecha trabajando con Wakami porque me gusta hacer pulseras. Tengo dos hijos y sueño que algún día, si Dios nos permite la vida, sean profesionales. Wakami me ayuda con una beca para mi hija Sheila. Yo no quiero que mis hijos sufran como yo sufrí y como a veces sufrimos cuando no hay trabajo. Quiero luchar para que mis dos hijos tengan una mejor vida que la que tuve yo.
