SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM
After +18 years of partnering with artisans in vulnerable communities of Guatemala, we’ve learned that nothing is more powerful than the multiplier effect that an empowered girl can have. Girls that go school transform and inspire entire communities and transform their future as well the destiny of their families.
How does the donation work?
Wakami Foundation grants an average of 130 scholarships a year. These scholarships are intended to support the children of women artisans so that they don’t have to choose which of their children will go to school. Our scholarship program provides an economic incentive to encourage families to invest in their children’s education. It partially finances a family’s expenses for school.
